Rotary Actuators
Hydraulic rotary actuators are compact, high-torque actuators that convert hydraulic pressure into precise rotary motion using a helical gear mechanism. These actuators are widely used in industries such as aerospace, defense, construction, marine, and material handling due to their ability to provide high torque output in a small footprint.
How They Work
Helical hydraulic rotary actuators operate based on the principle of helical gearing. Inside the actuator, a combination of a helical spline, a piston, and a ring gear work together to convert linear hydraulic pressure into rotational motion. When pressurized hydraulic fluid is introduced into the actuator, it moves the piston, which engages with the helical gear teeth to produce smooth rotary movement.
